Kettlebells gained popularity in the West in the 1990s and 2000s after Pavel Tsatsouline and the Russian Kettlebell Challenge (RKC) taught workshop and certification courses throughout the world. The Metal ball with a handle orginally from Russia (where it’s a recognised sport) has been used for decades, and provides the user or athlete with a tool for functional movement and strength development. The bonus is it also burns massive amounts of calories and is insane for cardio while the range of exercises keeps things interesting.

Don’t be frightened of them, beginners might start with a 5kg, 8kg or 10kg for some exercises but once you get a little bit of technique and confidence then you can progress to heavier bells. At Moi Fa we have weights ranging from 4kg to 48kg so something for everyone. You will generally use several different weights in a class depending on the exercises. Each class will be a mix of upper and lower body focused techniques for example PRESS and SQUAT but will always include SWINGS as a foundation exercise along with core body weight exercises and abs specific work.
Many people use kettlebell training as a standalone exercise for fitness and strength but we also have martial artists, endurance athletes and other sports participants who use kettlebells to supplement their workouts.
We have Kettlebellers (as I like to call them) aged 25 to 70 in our supportive group so why not get in touch for a free trial class
